What is GivingTuesday?
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. GivingTuesday reimagines a world built upon shared humanity and generosity. Our global network collaborates year-round to inspire generosity around the world, with a common mission to build a world where generosity is part of everyday life.
Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.
Safe Haven Campaign
As a grassroots nonprofit, space has never really been in the budget. We have been dependent on in-kind donations of space for many years. With the rising costs in the Bay Area, the question that we have been facing is, is there such thing as donated spaced? Children, youth, and families need space places to be able to grow despite their situations and circumstances.
Over the years, we have contacted many businesses, school districts, schools, nonprofits, and all have the same question how much can you afford to pay each month? The rejection of not having the funding to have a designated space that is close to various school bus lines, has space for us to start back up cooking classes and hot meals again, a garden to grow our own fresh vegetables and herbs, space to keep supplies and equipment and the list goes on and on.
We have found a space! The cost is $2500 a month. As we approach this giving season we are asking for radical generosity.
